Bath House

Overview

The program was to create a public bathhouse that holds a one bathroom and one shower for visitors of Washington Square Park. Experimenting with forms played a big part in the creation of this bathhouse. The form was created from referencing multiple points of interest within and around the park.

Site plan

The two paths coming off the bathhouse are focused in two different directions. The bathroom side is focused towards the path in the center of the park which is more for visitors. It is also focused towards Independence hall. The shower house is focused more towards the outer circulation because during site visits thats where more of the local residents walked and they would be more likely to use it.

Verticals

The vertical mullions are to represent are non structural but they are used to represent the trees of the park. They are all sized differently to better blend into the surroundings
